Ingredients:
- 1 cup Moong dal
- 2 cups Rice
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric (Haldar) powder
- 4 cloves (laving)
- 1-inch piece Cinnamon stick (Taj) broken into bits
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds (Rai)
- 4 Whole Black pepper (Kala Mari)
- 1 tablespoon Ghee
- Salt to taste (1 teaspoon)
Note:
- Ratio of Moongdal and Rice should be 1:2.
- You should increase the other items as per taste proportionately.
Method:
- Wash the Moong dal and rice in water for 4 to 5 times
- Add 5 cups of drinking water into Moong dal and rice. Soak it for 30- 40 minute.
- Prepare the tempering by heating Ghee, cloves, cinnamon stick, muster seeds, black pepper
- Once sound starts coming, add tempering into Water, Moong dal and Rice
- Add Turmeric Power and Salt
- Boil it for 12- 15 minutes on medium flame Gas - 4 whistles.
How to serve
- Serve it with Kadhi, Curd, butter milk or any Curry
- You can also serve Papad, Onion, Garlic paste, Pickle as per taste
