Gujarati Kadhi


Serves: 4 people
Preparation Time : 15 min.
Cooking Time : 15 min.
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons Gram flour (Besan)
  • 2 cups fresh curds (Dahi)
  • 1 teaspoon Green chilli (Marcha) & Ginger (Aadu) paste
  • 2 curry leaves (Mitho Limado)
  • Appx 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Coriander (Kothamir)
  • Salt to taste (1/2 teaspoon)
Cooking Method:
  • Keep tempering items ready: ½ Teapoon cumin seeds (Jeera) and 2 teaspoon ghee
  • Put gram flour, curd and 3 cups of water in a bowl and blend it till it becomes smooth.
  • Add green chilli & ginger paste, curry leaves, sugar, salt to the blend
  • Put all items for boiling medium flame.
  • Keep simmering it for 5 minutes.
  • Put all tempering items on Gas in separate vessel on medium flame
  • Once sounds starts coming add the tempering to the blend in other bowl
  • Keep the blend on medium flame gas for 7 – 8 minutes. Keep simmering it.
How to serve
  • Sprinkle coriander and serve it hot
  • It tastes good with Puri, Khichadi, Rice or Pulao
